Before coming here, I didn’t have any expectations.
How can I get the chance to know you when I have been living under a rock when it comes to learn about your history and culture?
From the very moment I crossed the border from Thailand, you welcomed me with your warm breeze, and the sound of your presence made me feel at home.
Fortunately enough I’m not by myself. Being so far away from me has made me enjoy what I have now. Living in the present can sometimes can be hard when there’s uncertainty around me.
Earlier this day, I was told that I look like one of your daughters. It made me realize how beautiful you are, and I’m flattered to be called one of your children.
The last few days, I have been learning about your history and the struggle your children had to overcome not a long time ago. It makes my heart break, so many people have lost their close ones, and I can’t imagine how hard that must be. Yet, your resilience to keep going makes me want to also keep going forward.
I am thankful for being here.
I wish you keep growing and healing from the pain and trauma.
Thank you for feeding me, giving me hope, and showing me about the things I was unaware of.
I wish you keep growing and heal from the pain and trauma. In the future, I will come back and visit you once again.
