By Nevaeh and Anabelle
Greetings from Krabi!
This is Nevaeh and Anabelle, coming back at you after three days in Thailand. So lately… We’ve been at this pretty cool place called Spirit mountain, in Krabi, a small costal town in Southern Thailand. We met our two new instructors, Graci and M, the latter we lovingly call PM to show our respect in Thai. We’ve been staying in a small retreat space called Nature Mind ED, which values connecting with natures and sustainable living. The property is home to rock climbing, cave spelunking, gardens with composting and many cute critters (Nevaeh disagrees that last statement, she doesn’t like the critters:( ).
Although the first day was hot and humid, we brought the rain with us from the Pacific Northwest. With heavy rainfall we were subject to plastic ponchos from Seven Eleven (Not me I was prepared -Nevaeh), and staying close together under the roof of the common area while we carried on with orientation. Even though the rain meant we were soaking wet it was a great addition to that darn heat.
Additionally we’ve been spending our time during orientation eating great food, learning how to speak Thai, learning how to work as a team, and preparing for the rest of our time abroad. The best part about this trip so far, was meeting two asian elephants at a nearby elephant garden!
Fun fact, Anabelle has been named Lizzie Mcquire. It seems as so everywhere Anabelle goes a lizard follows, leading to a minor panic when they appeared in other peoples’s bunglow’s (I’m innocent of all allegations – Anabelle) (No you’re not -Nevaeh)
We went to a restruant last night for the first time, and bonded even more as a team over dinner. I (Nevaeh) have been making an active effort to try new foods on this trip and I know Anabelle wants to so I have been making it my job to nudge her to try every new food that we see. Last night she had Mango sticky rice for the first time and now I’m going to let her tell you all about that from her perspective!
Anabelle- Look, it tastes wonderful! texture…? Not for me. I’ll just stick to stealing peoples mangos.
I think that’s all for us. Tomorrow were heading to Kho Klang, a small island for five days. Wish us luck! Ruam 2025!
PSA For Families! We are changing locations so we do not know what internet connection is going to look like so goodbye for now!
(Love you Mom and Noah, Give Taxy and snuggle for me -Bellie)
(Tell Kyrie I love him the most- TT)
